Google I/O Purchase has been cancelled - Very dissapointing

I was all excited that finally I would be going to Google I/O when I saw the message on Google I/O Registration Page.. "We have a ticket for you"... but my mistake I had the wrong CC in my Wallet. But I did update it right away and got a email from Google Wallet saying my purchase has been updated. But when I logged in to my wallet account I see this.. Very disappointing...

Martin Luther King - Timeline of Events (Mapped!)

Today January 21st is Martin Luther King Day in United States. Its a federal holiday here in United States celebrating Martin Luther King’s birthday (January 15th, 1929). Martin Luther King Day is observed on 3rd Monday in January every year.

Here’s “Martin Luther King” journey map which I created couple of years ago. It maps out important events in Martin Luther King’s life. The map automatically moves on to the next event in Rev. King’s life. You can however manually move forward/back by clicking on the arrows located at the bottom left on the map.

New Delhi Rape - Mapping Tweet Reactions #braveheart

A 23 year old Medical Student from New Delhi who was brutally attacked and raped on December 16th in New Delhi, India died today in a hospital in Singapore. Reaction has been swift with people tweeting their anger with the culprits and the Indian Government. Some of those reaction has been captured in tweets in this Google Maps Mashup. The map animates between tweets after every 5 seconds.

Map of Recent Worldwide Shootings

I had created a Map of World wide shootings a while back. Last I updated it was after the tragedy at Virginia Tech. I did not want to revisit this page or was hoping that I would not have to update this page ever. Sadly with the tragic events of last Friday I revisited the mashup and updated it. Mapping Hurricane Sandy Tweets

Hurricane Sandy is barreling towards the East Coast with widespread flooding and destruction predicted. One way to gauge what's happening on the ground is by looking at the tweets from the region as shown in this Google Maps Mashup I created. Along with tweets (which automatically pop up every couple of seconds), the map also has a KML overlay from NOAA of Tropical Warnings and the Hurricane Path which are clickable.

Google Maps Mashup of Obama's Journey to White House

Back in 2008 I had created a Google Maps Mashup of Obama's journey to the White House. Last night I updated it with some additional videos. The map animates to the next location after every 5 seconds. However you can skip the animation and click on the arrows located at bottom right of the page to navigate forward and back.

IPhone 5 arrives today - Tweets Mapped

iPhone 5 arrives today and there is whole bunch of people excited and eagerly waiting for it. Check out their tweets from across United States and Europe in this Twitter/Google Maps Mashup. The mashup animates thru Tweets every 5 seconds.
Yeah for some "this day better go fast" :)
